CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) takes effect 12/16/24. Are you ready?
At one minute after midnight tonight, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) will be mandatory for companies working with the Department of Defense (DoD).
Beginning Monday 12/16/24, DFARS Clause 252.204-7021 will be added to every DoD contract. This clause states that any contractor (prime, sub, or supply chain) performing DoD-related projects must achieve the necessary CMMC certification and be reported by March 1, 2025.
What is CMMC?
CMMC stands for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. It's essentially a cybersecurity checklist that ensures companies can protect sensitive government information.
New defense federal acquisition regulations (DFARs) will require your company to be compliant at one of three levels:
Level 1: Basic security for Federal Contract Information (FCI).
Level 2: Enhanced security controls for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Level 3: Advanced security measures for critical national security information.
Why You Need to Comply
Companies must comply with CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) if they want to do business with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
·Without CMMC certification, companies become ineligible for DoD contracts. CMMC compliance is crucial for any business operating in the defense industrial base (DIB).
CMMC compliance is not just a regulatory requirement—it’s an opportunity to enhance your cybersecurity posture and secure your business’s future. CMMC takes effect today. Trusted Internet can make the process straightforward and stress-free.
